As a massage therapist for over 28 years, Wendy Payton wanted to create products that would work well in both a massage therapy office and a spa and for her clients to continue their wellness experience at home. Products of impeccable quality, reasonably priced, and with innovative scents were her goal. Nurturing Essentials is that dream realized. Working with an aromatherapist and chemist in Arizona, Nurturing Essentials is now being introduced to a larger market although it has been available in Connecticut since October of 2007. Wendy’s signature blend, Lemongrass Synergy, has found many fans (men and women) that enjoy its unique fragrance and revitalizing while relaxing properties.

LOTIONS

Each lotion contains a soothing combination of shea butter, sunflower and safflower oil blended with essential oils. This is a wonderful moisturizing treatment for the body, hands and feet. Unscented lotion is also available.

ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS

Essential Oil Blends: This product can be used as a body and foot oil and also added to the soaks for the feet and body. The lemongrass synergy blend and rose oils are very rich and luxurious, excellent for dry and/or mature skin. The blend includes macadamia nut oil and jojoba oil which is very close to human sebum so that the absorption rate is extremely high for very effective moisturizing. The other scents (lavender, tangerine-ginger, and peppermint synergy) are in a blend of apricot, organic sunflower and organic safflower oils. These blends are somewhat lighter with an easy glide. The different scents instill different properties and appeal to different preferences.

Lemongrass Synergy:
Uplifting, stimulating, toning, reduces muscle soreness and is purifying.

Rose:
Relieves stress and tension, works as an astringent, cooling and rehydrating dry skin, an antidepressant.

Lavender:
Anti-inflammatory, relaxing, calming, soothing (good for burns and acne).

Tangerine-Ginger:
Warming, uplifting, antispasmodic, relieving muscle aches and pains, helps insomnia.

Peppermint Synergy:
Stimulating, awakening, fights fatigue and relieves headaches.

BASE OILS AND BASE OIL BLENDS

We offer a variety of carrier oils such as jojoba, avocado and a blend of organic safflower-organic sunflower-apricot kernel oil that can be used in your own practices according to your personal preference.

SOAKS

Soak: French sea salts and Dead Sea salts are the main components of this fine grained bath salt product. It works well for both foot soaks and baths, using about ¼ cup of the soak and 1 TBSP of the oil. In addition, this product can be used as a foot or body scrub. To apply to the body, use about ¼ cup of the soak and 1 Tbsp of oil with a few drops of water to moisten to make a paste (add water sparingly to avoid salt disintegration). Gently apply to dampened skin. Because of the fine grain of the soak, this paste can be easily removed with warm damp towels; you don’t have to shower afterwards. This is a great product for massage therapists who do not have access to shower facilities. Not recommended as a scrub for sensitive skin or to be used on the face.

SCRUBS

The array of ingredients (Oat flour, cornmeal, sea salts, organic cane sugar, and essential oils) creates a soothing scrub (close to a gommage) to gently exfoliate feet, hands and body. As a body scrub, you will need to shower afterwards, rinsing without using soap so that the oil can remain, continuing to nourish the skin. It is best when applied to dampened skin.

MASSAGE BALMS

Balms: A deeply penetrating blend of coconut and grapeseed oils, beeswax containing different scents. This product is excellent for deep tissue and friction massage as well as being uniquely suited to hot stone treatments due to its melting propensity. An additional essential oil blend available is muscle ease, consisting of eucalyptus and wintergreen.

BODY CREAMS

Body Creams: Similar to the lotions in ingredients but luxuriously whipped, making this the perfect product as a special moisturizer after any spa treatment.
